The photo above is my Father John E. Monaghan in 1953. The Fire Service was his 1st Love. This photo was taken when he was with the Speedway, Indiana Fire Dept. He retired from the Fire Service in 1989 with the rank of Assistant Chief from the U. S. Army Fire Department at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was instrumental in establishing a State Fire School at Ft. Harrison in the 1970’s.
He passed away on Father’s Day 2011. He was 84 years old and a WW II Veteran with the U.S. Navy. He will be missed, but his legacy will be long lasting.
We’ll see you Dad.
