This product should be protected from freezing and excessive heat.
1. To adjust liner for a more snug fit, simply loosen from anchor assembly and move liner up higher toward the inside crown of shell. You may also choose to insert/thread a shoelace thru the bottom of liner and tie off with a square knot for a more custom fit.
2. To adjust liner for larger size, simply remove liner and move it down lower on anchor assembly or more toward the brim.
3. To clean shell, use a mild detergent with a sponge or soft cloth in warm water, rinse thoroughly and hand dry with soft towel. Alcohol preps may also be used to clean an “UNPAINTED SHELL ONLY”!!! A Hi-Gloss finished may be obtained by using an automotive paste wax, or you can spray with Krylon Fusion paint clear coat. NOTE: Make sure that you remove the edge bead trim prior to spraying.
4. To clean liner, simply remove and hand wash with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly, gently hand ring and replace as described above.
5. If the liner becomes worn or unsanitary contact us for a replacement.
6. Liners may also be purchased separately to retro many other traditional vintage fire helmets made of leather, metal or plastics. Contact us for more information and details.
7. Custom leather front pieces for your “I. F. D.” helmet may be purchased from a vendor of your choice.
